Adelphoi Golf Classic Includes Pirate Alumni

Adelphoi USA’s 23rd annual Adelphoi Golf Classic is set for May 18, 19 and 20 at the prestigious Laurel Valley Golf Club and the Latrobe Country Club.

Various sponsorships are available including the PGA Elite Individual, Championship, Legends of Golf, and Sports Celebrity. Sponsorships include golf, a gourmet luncheon buffet, and a golfer gift bag. The Sports Celebrity sponsorship provides golfers with opportunities to golf with Pittsburgh Pirates’ alumni Jim Sadowski, Frank Thomas, Dave Giusti, Rick Reuschel, and Bill Mazeroski (the 2007 recipient of the Arnold Palmer Spirit of Hope Award).

“This event is the premier golf fundraiser in western Pennsylvania,” said John Rusbosin, co-chair of the Golf Classic. “All the dollars raised go straight to the Nellie Briles Fund for Adelphoi youth programs. Adelphoi was very fortunate to have Nellie involved and with his inspiration, we were able to attract some of the leading golf enthusiasts to help support our event.”

The association with former Pirate great Nellie Briles enabled Adelphoi to enlist the help of Pittsburgh Pirate alumni with the Golf Classic, Rusbosin noted.

Reservations for the various golf sponsorships are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

“It’s so rewarding that we can have fun while we raise money for such a noble cause as the Nellie Briles Fund,” said Rusbosin.
