ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION
PROGRAM OPENS IN LEECHBURG
A
new program for students struggling in a traditional classroom setting will
open on August 30 in
Alle-Kiski Valley Alternative Education, a service of
Staff at the new facility includes two teachers, a behavior specialist and a supervisor. The classrooms are approved by the state Department of Education.
The program offers a high student-to-teacher ratio within a small classroom environment. A wide array of counseling services and a flexible curriculum promote highly individualized instruction for students often in need of remedial services. The overall goal of the program is for the student to return to the larger public school setting after acquiring the academic and social skills necessary for success.
