Alternative Education Alternative Education provides an opportunity for students to experience academic success in an environment that maintains qualities not typical of a larger public school setting. A small teacher-to-student ratio, flexible curriculum and a wide array of counseling services result in highly individualized instruction for students in need of remedial services. The overall goal of the program is for the student to return to the larger public school setting after acquiring the academic and social skills necessary for success. Adelphoi Village operates Alternative Education programs in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Blair, Butler, Fayette, Indiana and Westmoreland counties. Dr. Robert Ketterer Charter School Dr. Robert Ketterer Charter School, located in Latrobe, PA, was charged in 1998 to provide educational services to more than 200 disruptive youths from Adelphoi Village, along with 24 students from Greater Latrobe School District. The school is the first and only Charter School in Westmoreland County.
