Office of Alumni Services
Alumni Services is a unit of Adelphoi Village dedicated to assisting youth in making a successful transition from placement. If you are an alumnus of Adelphoi Village, we can help you through ongoing support, referrals to community services, and even financial assistance.
Please call our Office of Alumni Services if:
You have moved or have a new phone number and would like to continue receiving our newsletter
You are struggling and wish to speak with someone
You are in college/trade school or plan to attend school, and are seeking financial aid (see scholarships below)
You are willing to speak at an Adelphoi function such as an awards assembly, career day, major staff conference, administrative/board meeting, or aftercare group
You would like to become a guest speaker at your group home or unit, speaking with kids currently in care and helping them address post-discharge issues

Scholarships and Financial Aid
Adelphoi has a number of ways it can assist alumni in achieving their educational/vocational goals. Currently, four scholarship programs exist for youth planning to seek post-secondary education or training.
Brownstone Scholarship
The Brownstone Scholarship Fund was established by an alumnus of Adelphoi Village to provide financial support to deserving Adelphoi Village alumni. Candidate must be in second year or above college/trade school program.
Any alumnus interested in this fund must apply by May 31 of the current calendar year.
There is generally only one recipient per calendar year. Scholarship amount is $750.00 or greater.
Charles and Portia Shirley
Achievement Fund
The Achievement Fund is for students who demonstrate a financial need to cover educational expenses. This fund is available to all alumni who have successfully completed an Adelphoi Village treatment program. A student must apply for federal and state assistance through PELL and PHEAA in order to be considered for this funding source.
Rental assistance requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
There is no application deadline. Scholarship amount is $600.00 maximum per year of study.
New Horizons Scholarship
Student must be a Westmoreland County resident, preferably from the town of Jeannette, PA. Candidate must have successfully completed an Adelphoi Village educational or treatment program.
Funding is for education only and student must possess a strong desire to complete education. (For instance, student completed freshman year with success.)
Application deadline is December 1. Award amounts are generally $1,000 or greater.
St. Jude Scholarship
Funding is awarded to an alumnus who is pursuing a career in the health/science field. If there is no alumnus in that particular area of study, the scholarship is offered to a deserving alumnus in another field of study.
There is no application deadline. Scholarship amounts are approximately $1,000 each.
Pisciotta Life Skills Fund
The Pisciotti Life Skills Fund provides assistance to motivated alumni with independent living needs.
Susan's Place Fund
The Susan's Place Fund offers educational assistance to alumni from the Susan's Place program.
Westmoreland Hospital Employee Charitable Trust Fund
WHCECT Fund offers education or independent living assistance to alumni residing in (or previously from) Westmoreland County.
Gaetano and Rita DiSalvo Education Scholarship
Scholarships are available for those pursuing culinary arts.
MIS Career Technology Fund
Up to $1,000 will be available annually to support a student or students in one of the following categories:
An alumnus of Adelphoi Village who has been accepted at an accredited higher education program in a field related to Computer Technology or Information Sciences.
An alumnus of Adelphoi Village who has been accepted at any accredited higher education program who is in need of a computer or other technology in order to pursue that program.
A current student at Ridgeview Academy or Adelphoi Village Academy who has been accepted at an accredited technology education course provided outside of the agency.
Robert Ketterer Scholarship Fund
Provides scholarship assistance to a youth from Dr. Robert Ketterer Charter School
Halboth Family Fund
Provides scholarship assistance to a youth who have been in foster care
Josh Merwin Fund
Provides assistance to alumnus of Monastery Run substance abuse program
Students in Need Fund
Provides for college expenses (tuition/books) for students in need of funding who have a 3.0 and who display motivation and scholarship achievement
Hall Home Scholarship Fund
Provides scholarships for alumni of Hall Home
