Specialized Independent Living Program The Supervised Independent Living Program (SIL) is a residential program for male and female youth, ages 16 through 19, who are scheduled for release from alternative-to-secure and secure facilities. SIL enables youth to learn independent living skills while addressing their treatment needs. This community-based program provides education services, as well as intense individual and group counseling, to address the special needs of the youth. As youth move through the program, they assume more responsibility, and demonstrate life skills in real-life situations, such as community-based employment, education and unsupervised community time.
