Male/Female, Ages 12-18Day Treatment provides an alternative education and therapeutic setting for those students charged with truancy, incorrigibility or disruptive behavior in a traditional school environment. Youth are referred from the county Juvenile Probation Department or Children and Youth Services, and usually in conjunction with the school district where the youth resides.
Day Treatment offers a small classroom environment, with individualized attention to the students. Classrooms typically maintain a student population of 12 students, with one Pennsylvania certified teacher and one caseworker in each classroom. Each site also has a PA certified special education instructor.
Day Treatment operates year round with classes both during the school year and during the summer months. The average length of stay in the program is 7 to 9 months.
