A young man looking nervously out a windowThere are many instances where a youth is not successful in the community environment because his/her mental health issues have exacerbated behavioral difficulties. When this is the case, youth need the opportunity to explore their mental health issues within a structured and intensive treatment environment that provides a level of therapeutic expertise and supervision for the safety of the youth, as well as the safety of their family and community.

Adelphoi Village's Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTF) are group homes for youth who have identified mental health needs. Master's level therapists provide mental health treatment in a one-to-one or group setting. Education services, as well as psychiatric and psychological services, are provided.

PRTF's are designed to provide the least restrictive environment for youth who need to be away from their home but do not require inpatient mental health care. The goal of the PRTF program is to provide individualized specialty treatment so that the youth may begin to understand his/her diagnoses and learn to replace negative coping skills with more pro-social and effective behavior.
